This Monday 7th of July, 2025, the Ministry of Health (MoH), alongside its dedicated partners and stakeholders, convened a crucial consultative meeting to address the recent reduction in the Global Fund's GC7 grant allocation. The meeting was presided over by the Minister of Health, Hon. Sarah Cleto Rial.

The session featured comprehensive presentations that included official communications from the Global Fund regarding paused activities and updated allocation figures. A key component of the discussions was a roadmap outlining the revised processes for the GC7 grant allocation, leading up to its final submission.

In her closing remarks, Hon. Sarah Cleto Rial emphasized the profound importance of this gathering. She highlighted its role in fostering an inclusive and transparent dialogue concerning the new indicative grant allocation from the Global Fund. This allocation, she noted, reflects a significant reduction of approximately $7 million, an issue that demands serious and immediate attention from all parties involved.

The Minister reaffirmed the South Sudanese government's unwavering commitment to co-financing health initiatives. She stressed the urgent need for a strategic approach to navigate this grant reduction wisely, ensuring the continued provision of essential health services, particularly for the nation's most vulnerable populations.

Hon. Sarah Cleto Rial extended her heartfelt gratitude to the Country Coordination Mechanism (CCM) leadership and the Global Fund for their ongoing partnership. This collaboration has been instrumental in the fight against HIV, Tuberculosis (TB), and Malaria across South Sudan.

The Ministry of Health believes that through continued collaboration and open dialogue, South Sudan can continue to make substantial strides in improving public health for all its citizens.
