Juba, 12 February 2025— MoH Undersecretary Meets Israeli Ambassador to Boost Healthcare Collaboration
In a significant meeting aimed at improving healthcare in the country, Dr. Harriet Akello Pasquale, the Undersecretary of the National Ministry of Health, met with the Israeli Ambassador to South Sudan, H.E. Gershon Kedra.
The meeting discussions focused on working together to enhance healthcare services, particularly the new Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Juba Teaching Hospital, which the Israeli government is funding.
During the meeting, they also discussed a special program that allows South Sudanese children with heart conditions to receive medical treatment in Israel. A group of children is expected to travel to Tel Aviv in the upcoming June.
Dr. Harriet emphasised the importance of training local medical staff at the Trauma Center in Juba Teaching Hospital to ensure a more muscular healthcare system in the future. The Honourable Undersecretary highlighted that teamwork and education are crucial for making lasting improvements in health services.
