Juba, 4 November 2025 - South Sudan Launches 2025 World AIDS Day Commemoration
The Ministry of Health, Republic of South Sudan, is pleased to announce the official launch of the World AIDS Day 2025 commemoration. This significant event marks a renewed focus in the national fight against HIV/AIDS.
The launch was spearheaded by Dr. Yar Manyuon Mayen, the Director General for Preventive Health Services, who was joined by government dignitaries, key partners, and the South Sudan AIDS Commission.
Commitment and Gratitude
During the ceremony, Dr. Yar Manyuon expressed her sincere gratitude to all partners and the AIDS Commission for their continuous, steadfast efforts. She reaffirmed the government's strong commitment to fully supporting and sustaining the fight against HIV/AIDS across the nation.
The 2025 Theme
World AIDS Day is internationally observed on December 1st each year to raise global awareness, mourn those lost, and celebrate progress in prevention and treatment.
This year's powerful theme is: "Overcoming disruption, transforming the AIDS response." This serves as a vital call to action, reminding all stakeholders to push forward and embrace innovation, even when faced with significant challenges.
