The National Ministry of Health held a significant meeting with a delegation from the East African Health Research Commission (EAHRC), an integral institution within the East African Community (EAC).

 

This meeting represented the 2nd session of the Host National Steering Committee, which is dedicated to coordinating preparations for the upcoming 10th East African Health and Scientific Conference. The conference, which will take place in Juba, Republic of South Sudan, from March 26th to March 28th, 2025, aims to enhance collaboration among health professionals and researchers throughout the region.

 

During the meeting, Hon. Dr. Harriet Pasquale, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, and other officials discussed logistical arrangements, potential keynote speakers, and significant topics for the conference. Emphasis was placed on the vital role of promoting health research and innovation in East Africa.

 

Additionally, the meeting addressed strategies to boost participation and engagement from various stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and academic institutions, to ensure that the conference is both successful and impactful.
