The National Ministry of Health (MoH) convened a crucial multi-sectoral meeting to address the ongoing cholera outbreak affecting several regions of South Sudan. The meeting, chaired by Hon. Yolanda Awel Deng Juach, brought together key stakeholders from various sectors to coordinate a comprehensive response to this public health emergency.
Recognizing the urgent need for coordinated action, the MoH emphasized the importance of a unified approach to combat the spread of cholera. Representatives from the Ministries of Education, Water Resources and Irrigation, Environment, and Humanitarian Affairs, along with officials from local government and law enforcement agencies, participated in the meeting.

- Effective Communication: The MoH will hold weekly high-level meetings to monitor the situation and ensure consistent messaging. A dedicated technical team will provide daily updates through various media channels to keep the public informed about the outbreak and prevention measures.

- Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH): Improving access to clean water and adequate sanitation facilities is essential to reduce the risk of cholera transmission.

- International Cooperation: The United Nations, represented by Mrs. Kiki Gbeho, expressed its commitment to supporting the government's efforts to control the outbreak.
