Ministry of Health Scales Up Nationwide Drug Disbursement Under HSTP Circle 4
JUBA | April 30th , 2026 — The Ministry of Health is pleased to announce that the distribution of essential medical supplies under Circle 4 of the South Sudan Health Sector Transformation Project (HSTP) is successfully underway. This critical operation ensures that life-saving commodities reach health facilities in every corner of the country.
Current Distribution Progress
The Ministry has confirmed that supplies have already been successfully delivered to the following regions:
- Lakes State
- Warrap State
- Unity State
- Greater Pibor Administrative Area
Furthermore, additional consignments are currently in transit and are expected to arrive within the week in:
- Abyei Administrative Area
- Northern Bahr el Ghazal (Aweil)
- Western Bahr el Ghazal (Wau)
- Ruweng Administrative Area
The Ministry is currently finalizing the "picking, packaging, and dispatch" phase for the remaining states to maintain the momentum of the delivery schedule.
Strengthening the National Health System
The HSTP is a government-led initiative supported by a consortium of international donors and the World Bank. It represents a strategic shift toward a more resilient and sustainable healthcare system, moving away from fragmented emergency interventions toward a unified, national service delivery model.
The project currently supports over 800 health facilities and thousands of Boma Health Workers to ensure that even the most remote communities have access to quality care.
