Minister of Health Leads High-Level Mission to Deliver Medical Supplies in Maiwut County
MAIWUT, Upper Nile State – In a significant move to bolster healthcare services in the Eastern Upper Nile region, the National Minister of Health, Hon. Luke Thompson Thoan Teny, arrived in Maiwut County today to oversee the direct delivery of essential medicines and medical supplies.
The Minister was accompanied by a high-level delegation, including:
- Dr. Humphrey Karamagi, World Health Organization (WHO) Country Representative.
- Dr. Atem Nathan, Director General for Primary Health Care at the Ministry of Health.
A Warm Reception and Strategic Oversight
Upon arrival, the delegation was received by the Acting Commissioner of Maiwut County, Hon. Isaiah Tut, along with community leaders and residents. The team proceeded to Maiwut County Hospital, where the official handover of the medical consignment took place.
During his address to the gathered crowd, Hon. Luke Thompson expressed a deep personal connection to the region, describing Eastern Upper Nile as his "second home."
