JUBA | The Ministry of Health is pleased to announce the return of the Honourable Minister of Health, Sarah Cleto Rial, who arrived in Juba this afternoon following a brief holiday visit to the United States.

 

Upon her arrival at Juba International Airport, the Acting Undersecretary, Dr. Harriet Akelo Pasquale, received the Honourable Minister alongside a delegation of senior officials and technical heads from the Ministry of Health.

 

This created an atmosphere of professional camaraderie as the Ministry leadership gathered to welcome the Minister back to the capital. Her return marks the resumption of her dedicated oversight of the nation's health sector priorities for the 2026 fiscal year.

 

Upon arrival, the Minister expressed her appreciation for the continued hard work of the Ministry staff during her absence. The leadership team continues to advance the Health Sector Strategic Plan and is focusing on ensuring that essential services reach all citizens across South Sudan. “We are delighted to have the Honourable Minister back with us. Her leadership is vital as we continue to strengthen our healthcare systems and respond to the needs of our people.” — Ministry of Health Official. With the Minister's return, the Ministry of Health will continue its focus on:

• Strengthening primary healthcare infrastructure.

• Enhancing maternal and child health programs.

• Expanding nationwide immunization and disease prevention efforts.
